Type your answers and save them in a Word, LaTeX, or PDF file. Upload your document to Brightspace. Your assignment must be submitted by Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Grace days are not available for assignments.

All work must be done individually. You may discuss general concepts with your classmates, but it is never acceptable for you to look at someone else's work. Please refer to the course policies if you have any questions about academic integrity. If you have trouble with the assignment, I am always available for assistance.

Grading

There are 12 problems from the book, each worth 5 points, yielding a total of 60 points. There are an additional 4 problems in the assignment, worth 10 points each, making up the remaining 40 points. 1% extra credit toward your final grade will be awarded for typesetting your solution in LaTeX. You must turn in both the LaTeX source and an output PDF to receive extra credit.
