Teachers need to know about their students to make good instructional decisions for them. What teachers know about students informs many dimensions of instructional practice including:

Web-based tools can make collecting useful information about students easier and more convenient. The analysis of data presented in a web-based format can be easier and different than that gained through more conventional methods. Focus on using these web-based tools to learn about student interest, readiness and learning profile. Then use this information to differentiate content, process, and product.
