Welcome to my website!

My professional goal is to help faculty, teachers and students explore and use technology in their teaching and learning.

I have a background in instructional technology and primarily teach courses regarding technology in the classroom. I am webmanager for the Education Department as well as several community groups. You will see many garden and travel photos on my site as well. Technology must always be balanced by things natural!

Technology in the classroom is here to stay! The more teachers know about and do with technology, the more they are able to shape the use of technology in our schools.

The most excited users of technology are the students themselves. Want to engage your students? Give them the tools. Photo below is a 7th grade student learning to use a Palm handheld computer for recording thoughts about a story he had just read.

Worried about change? Think about this quote from the National Association of Teachers in 1907: "Students today depend too much upon ink. They don't know how to use a pen knife to sharpen a pencil. Pen and ink will never replace the pencil."
