By the seventies, as I gathered, no one would believe in the existence
of a "Hymn Book" committee, so the name was changed to the "Library Committee."
The meeting pattern, however, did not change. As time passed the membership
of the committee changed, and I learn that Bob Gatti (Asst. Dean for Student
Affairs then, Dean now) became a member; this was done with the encouragement of
Dean Van, his boss, who was "Pleased to see him taking an interest in campus
matters outside the student personnel office."
I understand that the library committee is currently more traditional in both its meeting place and its activities.
