Hybridization - Hydrogen

Hybridization of orbitals in atoms is only necessary when an atom is bonded to more than one other atom. Since hydrogen can only form one bond, we do not have to consider hybridization for hydrogen. Notice that hydrogen always bonds to only one other atom in the examples below.

methane (CH4)
 ammonia (NH3)
water (OH2)
