Skills/Expertise I have chosen the areas of computer-aided design and scenic painting as areas
for intensive study and development. I have been at the forefront for developing
and adapting theatrical uses for Autocad in drafting scenery and light plots;
Adobe Photoshop for two-dimensional renderings and graphical manipulations;
Animator Studio for 2-D animations; and 3-D Studio MAX for three-
dimensional computer modelling, stage lighting studies, and architectural "walk-
thru" animations of stage and theatre designs. I have spent considerable time,
including two intense sabbaticals, in these areas and have incorporated
computer drafting, graphics, and animation into Otterbein's curriculae of theatre,
visual art, and graduate education programs. I also offer demonstrations,
workshops and master classes in all aspects of computer-aided design. Past
workshops include presenting at USITT-Ohio Vally conferences, teaching
master classes for the Ohio State University, and offering community
workshops. My animations were on display at the national USITT convention in
Nashville, TN, 1994. I have also done freelance design work for the Internet.

In addition to the computer-aided design expertise described above, I have
designed over 120 productions to date and have considerable expertise in all
aspects of set and lighting design including model-making, rendering, drafting,
construction, and painting of all types of scenery and properties. I have
designed plays, musicals, opera, dance, and industrials. As a designer I have
worked with community, educational, and professional companies in a variety of
theatre spaces.
