Results:

• All files (both images and HTML) to be published will be sent to Josh Stuppy (jds740w@mail.smsu.edu) via email.
  Note: ALL FILES SUBMITTED FOR PUBLISHING WILL OVERWRITE PREVIOUS SUBMISSIONS!!!
• Pages will be examined for compliance with established guildlines.
• Minor problems with the pages will be corrected (i.e. default link color not set, etc), but major fixes will be the responsibility of the developer.
• Email notification will be sent when pages are published and any fixes that were made will be listed in the message.
• Each page submitted for publishing will have a comment at the top of the document with the following information:
• Developers name.
• Date sent for publishing.
• Location/directory on server file should be published to.
• Naming conventions for files:
• All HTML files will end with '.html' extension.
• No spaces in file names, use underscores if needed.

FrontPage Design Concerns:

• Shared Borders
  Shared borders are a feature that allows the author to write the top, left, bottom, or right border once and apply it to all of the pages throughout the site. When adding a new page, FrontPage automaticly puts in the borders and when you edit the page, you just edit the content of the middle section. A good example of this is the Computer Services Networking Homepage. You may notice that almost every page on the networking site has the same layout. The conformity of the site to this layout is done automaticly by FrontPage.

• Navigational Bars
  FrontPage offers the option of maintaining a site map. This map is a tree structure with the homepage as the root and linked pages as children etc. If you use this design, you can use what FrontPage calls Navigational Bars. A Navigational Bar can be either on the left or the top of a page and will contain graphical or textual links to pages at a specified level in the tree relative to the current page. The Networking Homepage uses a navigational bar in the left shared border that lists all of the child pages of the current page. The entire site uses the same navigational bar because it is in a shared border. You are not limited to listing the children in the navigational bar, you can also list all of the siblings, all of the parent's siblings, just the next and previous sibling, or all of the site level pages. The top and bottom shared borders also use a navigational bar, but they list the site level pages.
• Themes
  FrontPage uses themes to maintain consistency throughout the site. A Theme is a list of page attributes such as background, font colors, buttons, headings, and list icons to be used throughout the site. If a theme is applied, then the attributes to each page default to the theme's. Another benifit of using themes is that if you want to change the look of a site, you can just apply a different theme and everything is changed for you. The Networking Hompage uses a custom theme built here at SMSU. If we want to build a custom theme for the CSC web page that can be arranged.
• Other Features
  There are several other features that FrontPage has built in. The listed features require little to no additional setup. Examples of their use are listed as well.
