 4. The Thursday Lab Session -- will sometimes use for 1 hour lecture.

 5. Students will introduce themselves with highlight.

 6. Hand out and go over Syllabus

 7. READING:

- read the Afterward to get a sense of larger picture
- read chapter 1.

8. Main topic: Consider the social context of HCI: Shneiderman Afterward.

His three wishes for use of technology to shape the future:
- universal access to computing technology
- universal medical records
- universal educational support

9. Discussion question: Where do HCI and UID fit into
- universal access to computing technology?
- universal medical records?

10. Student Survey form handed out and turned in.
