GOBA 2009

Nancy, Pete and Bob return to GOBA after skipping 2008 due to schedule conflicts. We brought a fourth person this year! Kay Lahmers, Nancy and Bob's mother, followed us from town to town and provided the car that allowed all four of us the freedom to customize this most excellent vacation!

• Sunday June 21, Norwalk to Elmore : Nancy and Pete drive up from Columbus, Bob and Kay drive over from Stow. After a warm ride, Kay meets us in Elmore and we load the bikes and head for Kelley's Island, where we stay at the Campbell's B&B.
• Monday June 22, layover day : We relax and tour Kelley's Island, then stay a second night.
• Tuesday June 23, Elmore to Bowling Green : First ferry back from Kelley's Island is not that early, so Kay shuttles us to the first rest top in Pemberville. We ride to Bowling Green, where we meet Kay at our home for the next three nights, the Falcon Plaza.
• Wednesday June 24, Bowling Green to Defiance : We ride from the hotel, join the route west of town then ride on into Defiance on a hot day. Kay meets us there and we tour Defiance by car before returning to Bowling Green.
• Thursday June 25, layover day : We drove up to Toledo today to visit the Toledo Zoo, have lunch at Tony Packo's, then visit the Museum of Art. Hot and humid and eventually rain.
• Friday June 26, Defiance to Fostoria : Kay again shuttles us to the first rest stop and we ride from there. Our last night is spent at the Best Western in Fostoria, which has a nice indoor pool!
• Saturday June 27, Fostoria to Norwalk : Early start today and a few headwinds (surprising since we're riding east). Arrived in Norwalk noonish, cleaned up and returned to Columbus and Stow.
