GOBA is the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (www.goba.com). It is a one week bicycle tour of an Ohio region by 3000 riders. The 2004 region centered around Wooster, where we lived from 1980-1986. It is also near the Lahmers family hub in Dover. This gave us the opportunity to visit and stay with friends and relatives, rather than sleep in tents! Here is the official GOBA route highlight map. It is not to scale but gives you an idea of the route.

What follows is a day-by-day journal of our GOBA adventure in pictures and words. We rode 241 miles in 5 days of riding. As we expected, there were plenty of hills -- I just read a chat message from a veteran of 13 of the 16 GOBAs stating it was the most challenging he had done. The narrative and pictures are not so much about the ride, however, but about the people. We sacrificed the "total GOBA experience" in order to re-connect with friends and family who live in the area. It was an enriching experience.
