Part 3 : August 2 bicycling Ohio's Towpath Trail

After returning to Bob's house, we bicycled a 21-mile section of the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail. It is about a 20 minute drive from his house. It actually fits in with the theme of the week. This canal connected Lake Erie to the Ohio River and of course the Ohio flows into the Mississippi. It thus facilitated the flow of people and goods from the Great Lakes all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.
