The rural roads around NOTL, comparable to our county roads, were named Line X (X=1,2,3,etc) if they ran east-west and Consession X if they ran north-south. The term "concession" refers to the farmers "conceeding" the strip of land to the government for building the road upon. I don't know what the "line" means.
