A breadth-first overview of computer science. Topics are introduced through a layered
approach: data representation, hardware components, problem solving and algorithms, low-
and high-level programming languages, operating systems, communications, applications,
and social/ethical issues. Basic programming concepts are introduced and applied through
a high-level language.
