Questions to think about for Tuesday 16 October's discussion of the Meno

1. Socrates claims that no one can want what is bad, and Meno agrees (78a-b)  How can they maintain this in light of the view that people at least seem to want cigarettes, fatty foods, and other harmful stuff?

2.  What is the discussion with the slave boy supposed to prove?  Does it in fact prove what Socrates thinks it proves? Do you find Socrates' position here plausible?
